Privacy

Your statements. The PDF, CSV, OFX or QFX files you choose are read in your browser. The files themselves are never uploaded. Nothing about them reaches our server unless one of the two steps below happens.

Category suggestions, only if you ask. If you press "Suggest categories", the description of each merchant the built-in rules do not know (for example "LA COCINA DE MAMA SAN JOSE CA"), with any long numbers hidden, and whether the money went in or out, is sent through OpenRouter to Anthropic's Claude model to suggest a category. No amounts, dates, balances, account numbers or names you typed are sent. Nothing is kept on our server; OpenRouter and Anthropic handle the request under their own terms.

The worksheet PDF, after payment. To make the PDF, your browser sends our server, once each time you make it, what goes into the PDF: the transactions (date, description, amount), your categories and choices, each statement's dates, opening and closing balances, file name and fingerprint, and the account names and last four digits the statements show. The finished PDF is kept for 24 hours behind a private link so you can download it again, then deleted. The request itself is not kept.

Your working copy. The parsed statements and your choices are kept in your own browser (IndexedDB) so the page survives the trip to the payment page and a reload, and so you can re-run within 30 days. Use "Start over" or "Remove" to delete them.

The acknowledgment. The state you chose, the version of the text you accepted and the time you accepted it are kept with your payment record at Stripe and inside the code that unlocks your re-runs. Nothing else about you is attached to it.

Payments. Handled by Stripe. We never see your card details.

Emailing yourself the link. If you use it, we send one message to the address you type. The address is passed to our email provider (Cloudflare) to deliver that message and is not stored.

Usage data. We record anonymous usage events: which step was reached, how many files, statements, transactions and months, which state, device type, country, referring site, the page you landed on, how long you stayed, and error types. A random visitor id is kept in your browser so that visits to the guides and the tool count as one visitor. We never record amounts, merchant names, balances or account numbers. There are no accounts.
